" MSNBC ANCHOR: Do you believe Hillary Clinton has been honest and forthright from the beginning of this controversy?
ED RENDELL: I think there's been parsing of language but I think basically she has. She didn't do anything that other Secretaries of State didn't do. In fact, Colin Powell recommended she have a private e-mail. Number two, she didn't break any State Department regulations. She may have parsed things here or there but basically telling the truth.
Longtime Clinton ally and former Governor of Pennsylvania Ed Rendell appeared on MSNBC this afternoon to discuss former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's private server and the involvement of the FBI.
"I think she's been basically telling the truth," Rendell said.
He has been the Campaign Chair for the Democratic Governors Association, and also served as General Chairman of the Democratic National Committee during the 2000 presidential election.
Element Partners’ website lists several investments by the firm in natural gas companies, including a company called 212 Resources that specializes in “fluid management systems” for fracking.
Rendell is also a senior adviser at the investment bank Greenhill, which has worked on several large transactions involving natural gas companies.
Rendell’s comments have stirred up controversy in the past.
In 2010, he said the US had “become a nation of wusses” following the postponement of a Philadelphia Eagles game due to a snowstorm.
